15 dead as Boko Haram attacks market in Borno state
At least 15 people died today June 15th after suspected men of the Boko
Haram sect launched an attack on traders at a local market in
Daku village of Askira Uba LGA of Borno state around 11am.
Reports say the men numbering over 20 and armed with AK-47 rifles, Improvised Explosive Devices and petrol bombs stormed the market square on motorcycles and a Hilux Toyota vehicle, and opened fire at people in the market. Several shops, houses, vehicles and motorcycles were reportedly razed during the attack. After the attack, sources say the men then took foodstuffs and money from the traders.
