Ebola: BABCOCK UNIVERSITY conducts compulsory test for visitors

BY LAJU ARENYEKA @VanguardNews
As a result of the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, the Federal Government has instructed all primary and secondary schools across the country not to resume until October 13.
However, even tertiary institutions are leaving no stones unturned in protecting their communities from the disease as Babcock University, Ileshan-Remo now conducts compulsory tests for every visitor coming into the campus.
A source who revealed this to Saturday School Life told our reporters: ‘‘I went with a friend to visit her daughter on the campus. One kilometer away from the school, there were testing stations as well as security.
Our first encounter was with the security personnel who asked for certificates that we were Ebola free. When we couldn’t provide such, we were directed to fill some forms as to our whereabouts and state of health.
The officials wanted to know whether we had been to the Congo, Lagos, Liberia or any area known to have infected people. After that, the medical personnel check us thoroughly before we were then given a certificate, ordered to sanitize our hands and given permission to enter the school compound.
