Lagos Government to make Yoruba Language compulsory in schools

  The Lagos State Government, LASG has harped on the need to make Yoruba Language a compulsory teaching subject in all schools in the state. The state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by his deputy Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, made this known on Thursday at a stakeholders’ forum organised by the state House of Assembly at Academy hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja. He said the state had concluded plans and that the subject will be taught in primary schools and junior secondary school, JSS 3 across the state. Seven-year-old had not been seen since Saturday after his parents apparently abandoned him in a forest on the island of Hokkaido as punishment A seven-year-old boy who went missing in bear-inhabited forests in northern Japan after his parents apparently abandoned him as punishment, has been found alive. Yamato Tanooka was found by chance by military personnel in a hut on one of its exercise areas 5km from where he is believed to have gone missing and had sustained only cuts. The doctor who assessed him after his ordeal in Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island, said: “He was incredibly calm considering he had been missing for seven days. A Pakistani teen, Maria Sadaqat has died after a group of men set her on fire because of a rejected marriage proposal. The 19-year-old, who lived outside the Pakistani capital in Dewal, had burns on 85% of her body when she was admitted to the hospital in the Capital, Islamabad on Sunday after a group of men attack her in front of her home. The deceased, who was a teacher at a private school in the village, died Wednesday. Her uncle said that her brutal death came after she rejected a proposal to marry the owner of the school’s nephew. Abdul Basit added that the potential match was a “divorcee twice her age” and said that his niece had resigned from her job because of harassment from the principal, according to The Hindu. Last week movie mogul Tyler Perry sold his Atlanta estate for $17.5 million, the most ever paid for a private residence in Atlanta. And now, it's been revealed he is leaving the city of Atlanta to live on a farm with his girlfriend Gelila Bekele and their son Aman. Tyler Perry tells E! News; "I know this sounds ridiculous, but I wanted more land so I bought more land outside of the city. It's the same distance to the studio as my old house, but now I can have horses and pigs and organic vegetables."
